According to Downers Grove police, officers were called to the train tracks near Washington Street at approximately 12:45 a.m. Sunday for reports of a person that had been struck by a train. According to a preliminary investigation, the person was seen on foot south of the railroad crossing. The person attempted to walk north across the tracks and was struck by a westbound freight train.
